Dress Code

While there is no strict dress code at Oktoberfest, traditional Bavarian clothing is extremely popular and adds to the festive atmosphere. Women typically wear a Dirndl — a dress with a fitted bodice, blouse and apron. Men wear Lederhosen — leather shorts with suspenders, paired with a checkered shirt. Wearing traditional clothing is a sign of respect for Bavarian culture and is warmly welcomed by locals and fellow visitors alike.

💡 Fun Fact

The way a Dirndl bow is tied reveals relationship status — left side means single, right side means taken, front means undecided and back means widowed!
